Theodore S. "Ted" Hollen, 84, New Florence passed away November 3, 2019 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born January 1, 1935 in Huff the son of late Edward E. and M. Ellen (Pennington) Hollen. Also preceded in death by his wife, Teresa (Lorenzon) Hollen; daughter, Mary Sue Erlandson; brothers William, Robert, Harlan, Arnold, Donald, John, and Richard Hollen; sister Evelyn Bennett.
Survived by daughters Edi Nesmith and fiancé Randy Chesla, and Sonia Adams, both New Florence; grandsons US Army Col Michael Erlandson and wife Sandi, John Erlandson and wife Lindsey, Richard Nesmith and husband Joshua Shultis, Raymond Nesmith and friend Jamie Anderson, and Christopher Adams, Sr.; great-grandchildren Carlie, Michael, Gabriel, Tessa, Masie and Dylan Erlandson, and Christopher Adams, Jr.; sons-in-law Col Ernest Erlandson, Retired, Brookville, and Charles Adams, New Florence; brothers Kenneth Hollen, New Florence, and Ronald Hollen and wife Barbara, Newville.
Ted was a retired US Army veteran of 22 years who served in Vietnam. Life-member and past commander of New Florence VFW Post 7622. Member of Ligonier Lodge 331 F & AM. Former mayor of New Florence. He was an animal lover who enjoyed target shooting, riding motorcycles and quads, hunting, his model trains, and his daily two shots of Ten High whiskey.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence. Military honors 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
