Shawn Michael Carota, 38, Manheim, Lancaster County formerly of Robinson, passed away May 10, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 19, 1973, in Johnstown, PA. Shawn Graduated from United High School in 1993. He was employed in the printing industry for 19 years, currently at MAX International in Lancaster, PA. Shawn was the All-American Boy. He was a passionate fan of football, hockey, and cars. He was an avid lover of the outdoors; especially fishing and picking morel mushrooms. Most of all, he was a compassionate, loving husband to his wife and best friend Denice. He is survived by his loving wife Denice (Slippy), parents Charles and Gloria Shaffer of Robinson, siblings Chucky & wife Traci, Tammy, Sissy, several nieces and nephews, and in-laws. Preceded in death by his brother Scott. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a celebration of Shawns life 11 am Monday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St, New Florence, Pastor Farrel Abraham officiating. Shawn's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.
