Sara Jane Boring, 93, formerly of New Florence, passed away December 2, 2024, at Laurel View Village.  Born January 29, 1931, in Strangford the third child and first daughter of the late Ellsworth Sr. and Carrie (Dunmire) Muir.  Also preceded in death by husband Leroy S. Boring, brothers Fred, Ellsworth, Jr. Robert, James, and Harry Muir.  Sister Betty Perry.

Survived by children Debra Koch and husband Robert, Seward, Jane Farnam, Greensburg, Gary Boring and wife Vickie, and Allen Boring, both of New Florence.  Grandchildren Michael Koch, Heather Parsons, Matthew Farnam, Dustin Boring, Trisha Cotson, Kelsie Baldé, Amy Boring, Ryan Boring.  14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren.  Sister to Wayne Muir New Carlisle, OH, Margaret Brown and Ralph Muir both of Blairsville, Cathy Bowers, Robinson.

Sara Jane was the biggest Laurel Valley Football fan and a long-time member of the boosters.  She was a member of the New Florence Methodist Church where she was very active had served as secretary.  Sara Jane was also an active volunteer and devoted her time to Fairfield Volunteer Fire Co. and the L.V. Food bank where she was a former treasurer.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at Kenneth A Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence, PA where service will be held 11 AM Friday.
