Ruth N. Houston, 88, New Florence, passed away July 10, 2013 at Golden Living Center, Johnstown. Born April 2, 1925 in New Florence the daughter of the late Joseph I. and Laurena (Winebrenner) Houston. Also preceded in death by brother Joseph R. Houston, sister Sarah Louise Houston and sister-in-law Edith Houston Zadravec. Survived by niece Betty Jane Houston and good friends Ronald "Peck" Gehring, Marilyn McDermott, Paula Crusan, Joe and Mary Rager, Tom Smith and many other friends. She helped at the for Roth's Store, helped many nieghbors get their groceries, cut her own grass until recently and enjoyed shopping. Member of New Florence United Methodist and former E.U.B. Church. Friends received 5-8 pm Thursday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence where service will be held 10 am Friday. Pastor Sharon Hamley officating. Internment Coles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations maybe made to either New Florence Vol. Fire Co. or Laurel Valley Ambulance Service.
