Rose Short, 83, passed away on October 18, 2024, at St. Andrew's Village.  Born on October 15, 1941, in West Bolivar, PA.  She was the daughter of James H. and Margaret C. (Garland) Crusan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Lucille J. Howard, father-in-law Charles "Chal" Short, mother-in-law Martha "Hoopie" (Muir) Short, sister-in-law Bonnie (Short) Ballas, and niece Christine Closson.

Rose is survived by her husband of 61 years, John C. Short, daughter Karen Short and partner Craig Potts, son Chad Short and partner Mark Karpesky, her beloved dog Jake, in-laws: Elaine (Short) Closson, Ray Closson, Fred Howard, and Frank Ballas, nephews: Kevin Howard, Greg Howard, Christopher Ballas, and nieces: Lisa (Closson) Brendlinger,  and Wendy (Ballas) Bailey.

She was a lifelong faithful member of First Church of Christ in West Bolivar; a member of Weeders and Seeders of Ligonier; she was a very sociable person who enjoyed ancestry, crafting, pets, birdwatching, and photographing family functions.
