Robert E. Cahill, 91, Seward, passed away March 29 2015 at home surrounded by his family. Born March 4, 1924 in Twin Rocks the son of the late Thomas F and Ruth (Baum) Cahill. Also preceded in death by wife of 54 years Velma Jean (Stercho) Cahill. Brother Thomas Cahill and sister Catherine Conrad. He is survived by children Roberta "Bert" Croyle and husband David, Seward; Ronald Cahill and wife Kimberly (Gordon), Armagh; and Timothy Cahill and wife Brenda (Decker), Seward; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; Sister Inez Emert, California; Bob was a US air Force Veteran of WWII and a life member of the former Seward and New Florence V.F.W. Member of UMWA local 1257 and retired coal miner. He was a good mentor to his children and grandchildren teaching them mechanics and life lessons. He also enjoyed flea markets. Friends received 2-4 & 7-9 PM Thursday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St, Armagh, where service will be held 11 am Friday Chaplain James Yates officiating. Internment Armagh Cemetery. Military rite by local veteran organization.
