Obituary

Ralph Spory "Huck", 95, New Florence, passed away November 15, 2015 at the Laurel View Village, Davidsville, PA. He was born October 5, 1920 in New Florence, PA, the youngest son of the late Robert and Minnie (Grasser) Spory. Preceded in death by his wife Mollie (Riddell) Spory and siblings Ray, Newton, Frank, Robert, Paul, Gertrude, Edith, and Bertha. He is survived by his children Ralph Spory Jr (Nina) and Bonnie (Spory) Ford (Jim), six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Ralph served in the Army Air Corps in WW II until October 31, 1945. A local businessman in New Florence, he owned and operated Spory's Economy Store until 1967 and retired from the U. S. Postal Service in 1985. He served on the local school board and was a member of the American Legion, Masons and Shriners. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed traveling with his wife Mollie. During his retirement he and Mollie wintered at their home in South Texas. Always a gentleman, kind to all, and hurtful to none. Visitation will be at the Oak Grove Church of Christ, 3742 Route 711, Ligonier at 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 22nd. Service at the church, officiated by Charlie Burd will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Fairfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be given to the Oak Grove Church of Christ. Arrangements in care of Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence.
