Norris G. Boring

Norris G. Boring, 78, New Florence, left this world on August 31, 2026, at Richland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Johnstown. Born on March 15, 1948, in Wilmerding, the son of the late Norris W. “Pete” and Helen (Yusko) Boring. Also preceded in death by the love of his life Martha (Janie) Miller.

Norris served his country during the Vietnam Era as an Army Veteran. Upon returning home, he spent many years employed at Bethlehem Steel Corp. and loved running his fire extinguisher Company, C&N Fire Extinguishers, on the side. After leaving Bethlehem Steel, Norris spent many years as a dedicated security officer in various local establishments, including Kmart, Ames, Hills Department Store, Weave Security Company, Valor Security Company, and St. Moritz Security. Norris made many cherished friends throughout his careers and life paths.

Norris Cherished many memories of going camping with Janie, he also looked forward to setting up his yard sale every year during New Florence’s Community yard sale day.

Norris was quite the cook, spaghetti and stuffed peppers were his specialty. He also loved all animals and would never pass up the opportunity to stop and pet a dog. Norris loved his cat Shadow with whom he is now reunited, and he absolutely adored Pepper.

Along Norris’s life journey he made many special family and friends that he leaves behind. Norris leaves behind his brother Gary Boring, Clyde; niece Jennifer Laney and husband Tim, Robinson. Special friends George Mundorf and his dog Pepper, Billie McCowan and numerous others.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence from 12:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 PM.

As we remember Norris, let us celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man—one whose warmth, laughter, and generosity will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit and kindness will live on in our memories. Norris was one of a kind. He always had a funny story to tell and an Old Milwaukee in his hand.
