Martha F. "Hoopie" Short, 93 Bolivar died July 18, 2012 at Excela Health Latrobe Area Hospital. Born March 30, 1919 in Fairfield Twp the daughter of the late George and Martha (Hart) Muir. Also preceded in death by husband Charles A. Short; daughter Bonnie Lou Ballas; great-granddaughter Ashley; sister Mary Ellen Boring; brother John Muir. Survived by children John Short and wife Rose; Elaine Closson and husband Raymond, all of Bolivar. Grandchildren Karen Short; Chad Short both of Bolivar; Christopher Ballas and wife Susan, Indiana; Wendy Bailey and husband Joseph, MD; Lisa Brendlinger and husband Sam, Armagh; Christine Closson, Clyde; step-grandchildren Theresa Coleman and husband Scott; Christina Doolley and husband Scott; 6 great-grandchildren Haelee, Cliffy, Blake, Lexi, Charley and Benjamin; sisters Della Zimmerman, Bolivar; Stella Bowser; Nora Gardner, both of Blairsville; Katherine Burkett and husband James, Bolivar. Son-in-law Frank Ballas, Indiana. Friends received Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence where services will be held Saturday at 11:30 AM. Rev.
