Marie McAdams, 97, formerly of New Florence, passed away October 27, 2019 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.  Born January 9, 1922 in Elmore, the daughter of the late Emanuel and Mabel (Fye) Betton.  Also preceded in death by husband Charles Leo McAdams, Sr.; grandson Michael Rector; sisters Margaret Simko, Martha Jane Miller, Annie Shetler, Mildred Foster and Virginia Moore; brothers Thomas Alfred Betton, Richard Betton; infant sister Mabel Gladys Betton.

Survived by children Mabel McAdams and special friend Carl Lichtenfels, Robindale Heights; Charles Leo McAdams, Jr. and special friend Jennie Truitt, New Florence.  5 Grandchildren; 7 Great-grandchildren; and 10 Great great-grandchildren.  Brother Franklin Betton, Ligonier; sister Rosaline Betton.

Marie worked at Trimble's Sauerkraut Factory for 16 years and spent 6 years working at Idlewild and Storybook Forest as "The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe"; she was also the custodian for New Florence United Methodist Church and Ligonier Valley School district for numerous years.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Her great-grandchildren where her pride and joy.  She loved them all and would brag about all their many accomplishments.  She cherished the time she had with them.  She was a member of New Florence United Methodist Church.

Friends received 4-8 PM Wednesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence, where service will be held 11 AM Thursday.  Pastor Scott Hamley officiating.  Interment Bethel Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left at www.thestuartfuneralhomes.com
