Johns, Leura Pearl, 90, Quakertown formerly of New Florence died September 25, 2014 at Lifequest Nursing Center, Quakertown. Born August 5, 1924 in Johnstown the daughter of late William and Maggie (Fry) Alter. Also preceded in death by first husband George J. Boyer and second husband Frank A. Johns; three brothers Charles, Howard and Ernest Alters; two sisters Sarah Jackson and Annie Howard; five step-children Emma Barkhymer, Geraldine Blough, Fred and George Johns and Alverda "Jump" Stiffler. Two step-grandchildren Bert Barkhymer and Debi Barkhymer Baird. Survived by two children Esther wife of John Baldwin, Coopersburg, and George Boyer and wife Lorraine, Greenwich, OH; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one step-son Clarence Johns, New Florence; numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren. Prior to moving to Quakertown she was active member of New Florence Church of God. Family and friends will be received 6-8 PM Sunday and 10 till time of service 11 AM Monday at Kenneth A.
