Lena Marie Heming, 92, New Florence, PA, passed away at Arbutus Manor, August 19, 2021, surrounded by her family.  She was born August 1, 1929, in Punxsutawney, PA, to John and Anna (Firment) Holupka. Preceded in death by parents, husband Cyril O Heming and brothers Frank, John, Adam, and a sister Marie.  She is survived by beloved daughter and son-in-law Gloria Jean and Daniel Johnston, New Florence; son and daughter-in-law Ronald and Janice (Noel) Heming, Greensburg; granddaughters Danielle Johnston, PhD, New Jersey; and Julie Noel Heming, Cannonsburg; and grandson Ryan Heming, Wyoming.

Lena worked at Bestform in Johnstown and the Overall factory in New Florence and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Florence before it's closure, and Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward.  She was an excellent seamstress, knitter and crocheter and could just look at something and make it.  She enjoyed baking.  Time spent with her children and grandchildren was cherished, card playing included.  Lena loved feeding the birds and had numerous pets, with her favorite being Tinker, a de-scented skunk.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Lena's name to Alzheimer's Assoc. at www.alz.org . Due to public health concerns, visitation and service will be private.  Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Westmont.
