Karen (Hughes) Murphy, 74, Bolivar, passed away June 19, 2026, at IRMC. Born February 20, 1952, in Latrobe, the daughter of Late William B. and Glayds C. (Boring) Hughes. Also preceded in death by son Randy "Murph" Murphy.
Survived by daughter Stacy Murphy, Bolivar; grandchildren Dylan Murphy, Haley Murphy, Alex Murphy, Shane Murphy. Brothers William Hughes and wife Elizabeth, Apollo; and Greg Hughes and wife Lenore, Bolivar. Niece Angela Kennedy, Murrysville. Nephew Greg Hughes, Jr., Red Lion. Great-nephew Mason. Special cousins Rick Hughes, Carol McClaren, and Nancy Jones along with several other cousins. Close friends Becky Thompson, Marilyn Magas, Sue Pease, Chrissy Schaffer, and Carrie Malnofsky along with numerous other friends.
Karen enjoyed reading books and listening to Elvis Presley. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren.
Friends received 3-7 PM Tuesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence. Grave site service and committal 11 am Wednesday at Bolivar West View Cemetery.
