Rager, Joseph W. "Joe", 90, New Florence, passed away December 12, 2017 at the Bethlen Home, Ligonier. Born November 9, 1927 in Johnstown the son of the late Joseph C. and Lillian (Foster) Rager. Also preceded in death by son Joseph James "Jim" Rager; sister Eileen Rager; and brother Dean Rager. Survived by wife of 69 years, Mary (Galbraith) Rager; son J. Scott Rager and wife Debra (McDade), Middletown; grandson Christopher L. Rager and wife Kristen (Grainer), Washington, DC; brother of Eleanor Isenberg, Alexander; Thomas Rager and wife Candy (Reitz), Timblin; Laura Jean Luther and husband Ivan "Bud", Armagh; Freda Mae Amash, Grand Rapids, MI; also, several nieces and nephews. Joe was retired from Bethem Steel Corp. in 1982 with 39 years of service where he was General Foreman of Bricklayers, a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, New Florence where he served as a Ruling Elder, New Florence Lions Club, New Florence VFW Post 7622, life-member of New Florence Vol. Fire Co., New Florence/St. Clair Twp. Sewage Authority, former member of the New Florence School Board and US Army veteran of WWII. Memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 117 Chestnut St, New Florence. Rev. Anthony Catullo officiating. Future inurnment Armagh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church or a favorite charity of ones choice.
