Gehring, John E., 82, New Florence, passed away July 21, 2017 at home. Born June 1, 1935 in Johnstown the son of the late George and Anna (Schilling) Gehring. Also preceded in death by brothers Theodore, Richard, James, and Larry Gehring; sisters Marie Goveker, Dorothy Findley and Margaret Robel. Survived by wife of 58 years Dot (Rummel) Gehring; daughter Vicki Berkebile and husband Kevin, League City, TX; grandsons Ryan and Alex Berkebile, great-granddaughters Ava and Camille; brother Ronald "Peck" Gehring, New Florence; sisters Florence Hale, Windber and Barbara Herdman, Johnstown and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. John was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Johnstown Plant, US Army Veteran and avid gardener. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday at Kenneth A.
