Jerry R. Stiffey

Jerry "Gus" R. Stiffey 73, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026, with his nephew at his side. He was a loving Brother, Uncle and friend who will be greatly missed. Jerry was born on March 26, 1953, in Johnstown. He was the son of the late Shirley Helen Schultz and Warren Edward Stiffey. He grew up near New Florence and attended United High School (class of 1971) where he participated in Wrestling and was in the Senior Hall of Fame. Following graduation, he joined the United States Navy and served with the World Famous Red Lions HS-15 as an Aviation Electrician's Mate. Following his service he attended UPJ (University of Pittsburgh in Johnstown) graduating with a degree in Environmental Engineering, then followed with a career dealing with Super Fund Sites cleanup. Jerry loved the outdoors and hunting and fishing with his many friends. Finally he was also a loving father to his many furry friends over the years.

He is survived by his loving partner in life, Michelle Priest George of Johnstown, PA, his brother, Jan A. Stiffey and wife Sharon (Brown) Stiffey, nephew Jason J Stiffey and wife Darlene, grandniece, Briann (Stiffey) Jorgenson, and husband, Jared, their children Tucker and Ellie Jorgenson, grandnephew Jason A. Stiffey and wife Chantel, their children Jensen Stiles, and Addison Stiffey, all of Port Orchard, WA.

A private family ceremony with military honors will be held at Isabella Cemetery on later date, followed by a celebration of Gus's life.

Memorial Donations may be made to Whiskey Acres Animal Rescue and Sanctuary in Homer City, PA.
