Obituary

Janet A. (Meyer) Saltarelli, 76, of New Florence, went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2025, at UPMC East Hospital in Monroeville with her husband and daughter by her side. She was born on March 17, 1949, in Johnstown, the daughter of the late Elmer L. and Anna Grace (Miller) Meyer of Seward. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Anthony William (Tony) Saltarelli; sister, Sara Gladue; and brothers, Rev. Richard Meyer and James Meyer.

Janet was the loving wife of Nicholas J. "Nick" Saltarelli for 58 years and a devoted mother to her daughter, Theresa L. Saltarelli. She will forever be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love and support for her family.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home in New Florence. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, also at the funeral home—Father John Harrold officiating. Interment to follow at Armagh Cemetery.

Janet found great joy in attending the many theaters and performances throughout Pittsburgh with her husband and daughter, as well as the countless memorable vacations they shared over the years. She also loved attending IndyCar races as a family for more than a decade, creating unforgettable memories that will be treasured forever. Above all, her favorite pastime was spending quality time with family and friends at her daughter's lake house—one of her most cherished places.

As we mourn Janet's passing, we also celebrate her beautiful life, lasting legacy, and the unconditional love she so freely shared with everyone around her. She will be profoundly missed and forever adored in the hearts of her family and friends.

Until We Meet Again

I know saying goodbye is never easy—so instead, say, "Until we meet again."

I am home with the Lord now, reunited with all who came before me—but most importantly, my beloved son, Tony, who was waiting for me with open arms.

His fifteen-year-old wings stretched wide as he said, "Welcome home, Mom!" and hugged me so tightly. "Now we can watch over Dad and Theresa together."

To my friends and family whom I leave behind—grieving my loss—please know that I am at peace, and I want the same for you.

I understand it will take time, because you are still human, after all. But you will be okay without me—until we meet again, here, in the house of the Lord.

So please go and celebrate my life
and all the wonderful times we shared.
Think of those times—because there were so many.

And know that I felt your love, deeply and completely, every single day.
