James B. McClain, 71, Johnstown, died September 15, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center. Born October 19, 1939 in Robinson the son of late Sylvester J. and Emma Jane (Piper) McClain. Also preceded in death by daughter Barbara Jean McClain and these brothers and sisters, Margaret, Florence, Earl, John, Dale, Herbert and Clifford McClain, Betty Holmes, Esther Krouse, Alice Banko and Alma Shank. Survived by children Kim Ansley and husband Dale, Crestview, FL; Jamie Patterson and husband Bert, New Florence; Deborah Garland, Jeannette; James McClain Jr. and wife Gretchen, Abilene, TX; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews including special nephews Earl Krouse and Herbie Dale McClain. James retired from the US Air Force with 24 years of service and the National Weather Service with over 20 years of service. Life-time member of Duane Boring VFW Post 9310, Robinson. He enjoyed gardening and yard work. Friends received 1 till time of memorial service 3 pm Sunday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence. Internment Bethel Cemetery. Military rite by local veterans organization.
