DeWitt, James W, 50, New Florence passed away October 16, 2015. Born September 10, 1965 in Johnstown the son of Paul H. DeWitt and Gladys L. (Beard) DeWitt. Preceded in death by father. Survived by mother Gladys DeWitt, Shady Grove; wife of 26 years Jacquelin (Smuro) DeWitt; children Tyler J. DeWitt; New Florence Kirsten DeWitt, New Florence; brothers Michael DeWitt and wife Lisa, New Florence; Terry DeWitt and wife Donna, Greencastle; father-in-law Dean Smuro, Chambersburg; brother-in-law Ryan Smuro; sister-in-law Shara Finley and numerous nieces and nephews & extended family. Jim was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and a member of the New Florence V.F.W. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his children and their activities. Friends received from 5 – 8 PM Sunday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence where service will be held 11 AM Monday. Pastor Sharon Hamley officiating. Internment Fairfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to a fund in James's name to First National Bank, 166 Ligonier St., New Florence, PA 15944, to assist the family.
