Jacquelin J. Oliver

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jaquelin (Jackie) Oliver on February 24, 2026, at the age of 56 in Pittsburgh, PA. Jackie was born on April 25, 1969, in Willoughby Ohio, to Dean Smuro and the late Barbara (Timme) DeWitt.

Jackie was affectionately raised in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania by Dean Smuro and Cathy (Smuro) Maloney. At the age of 16, she moved to Ohio where she was a 1987 graduate of Madison High School. She later returned to Chambersburg with her husband, James DeWitt, where they started a family.

Jackie's favorite role in life was that of a stay-at-home mother to her two, beautiful children Tyler and Kirsten. Prior to her illness, Jackie was employed as a direct care worker at Cambria Residential Services, for which she was deeply passionate about her clients and her work with this population.

Survived by her loving husband, Shane Oliver, New Florence, PA. who was a dedicated caregiver to Jackie from the time of her diagnosis to her passing; her father, Dean M. Smuro, (Diane), Chambersburg, PA; son, Tyler DeWitt (Paige) New Hampshire; daughter, Kirsten DeWitt, New Florence; 4 grandchildren Niko, Nova, Dakota & Madison; a stepdaughter, Savanna Oliver; a brother, Ryan Smuro (Dianne), Mechanicsburg, PA, a sister, Shara Finley (Robert), Winchester, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family. In addition to her mother, Jackie was preceded in death by her first husband of 26 years, James DeWitt. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Jackie's life will be celebrated with a service at 2 PM Sunday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence with Rev. Scott Hamley officiating.
