Harold David "Mitch" Mitchell, 84, Brush Valley Twp. went to Heaven to be with the Lord, on Monday August 10, 2015 at home after an extended illness. Born January 26, 1931 in Hyde, the son of late Robert Franklin and LoVina Isabel (Gerahart) Mitchell; Mitch was also preceded in death by his infant daughter Sharon Lee Mitchell; pervious wife Martha (Stiner) Mitchell; grandson Jeffrey Mitchell; granddaughter Amanda Jill Mitchell; siblings Dan, Ann and Bob Mitchell, Della "Blondie" Glace, Audrey Lucas and Dorsey Mitchell. Mitch is survived by wife of almost 17 years Catherine (Baughman) Long Donahue Mitchell; children Marilyn Sue Berger, Lucerne Mines; David Mitchell, West Decatur; Kathy Bryan and husband Tom, LeContes Mills; Randy Scott Mitchell and wife Tammy, Seward; Lu-Ann Quick, Karthus; Jeffrey Mitchell and wife Sandy, New Florence; Gregory Mitchel and wife Donna, Blairsville; Todd Mitchell, New Florence; Carrie Mitchell and her daughters Tianna Leigh and Sadie Rae, at home; Michael Long and wife Kimberly, Ravenna, OH; Kevin Long and fiancé Victoria, Johnstown; 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Mitch has been blessed to be a member of New Life Church, located at the top of Mulligan Hill, New Florence for 12 years. Great times were enjoyed when the Saturday Night Nuttie Buddies Bowling League would get together on the lanes in Indiana. Mitch served as President of this mixed league for several years. He was employed by various mining companies in the area for over 40 years, first for more than 20 years as a laborer and then more than 20 years as a foreman. Friends received 2 to 8 PM Thursday and 10 till time of service 11 am Friday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh, with Pastor Joseph Walls officiating.
