Obituary

Eldene G. (Foust) Smith, 97, Bolivar, went home to be with her Lord on September 21, 2025.  Born February 24, 1928, in Robinson, the daughter of the late Wilbert Emerson and Matilda (McClarren) Foust.  Also preceded in death by husbands William "Snuffy" Smith and Clifford Shiley, grandson Shawn Carota, brothers and sister Emerson, Doris, Arnold, Roe, Leslie, and Earl Foust, stepdaughter Sherry Kaufman, and stepson Eugene Shiley.

Survived by children Joyce (Norbert) Pikovski, Marty (Sherlene) Smith, Leta (Gary) Brendlinger, Rodney Smith, Robin (Dona) Smith, and Nadene (Dave) Peters. Stepchildren Elaine Doell, Anita (Charlie) Wertheimer, Clifford (Lu Ann) Shiley.  Grandchildren Tammy Carota Hall, Christine (Mark) Duling, Doug (Sherri) Smith, Deanna (Mike) Gmys, Shannon (Eddie) Sobota, Garet (Noel) Brendlinger, Corryn Smith, Malorie Smith, Delaney Smith, Jeremy (Matthew) Smith, Chad (Jamie) Smith, Josie Smith, Jordan (Kristen) Peters, and Jake Peters.  21 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Brother Paul (Donna) Foust, sister Kathy (Ron) Kinard, and "Adoptive daughter" Nancy Robinson.

Eldene was a faithful member of Beacon Independent Baptist Church, retired employee of Torrance State Hospital, and volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul Store.  She was an excellent cook and baker, who enjoyed looking at different recipes, sewing, having her hands in dough, working outside with her flowers, and keeping up on current events.  Her quick wit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence, and 10 am until time of service 11 am Friday at Beacon Independent Baptist Church, 536 Market St., Bolivar.  Pastor Paul Lint Officiating.  Internment Penn View Mount Tabor Cemetery.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Beacon Ridge and 365 Hospice for the care and love Eldene received.  In lieu of flowers donations to Beacon Independent Baptist Church in memory of Eldene.
