LTC Edwin D. Bracken, Sr. (US Army, Ret.) 77, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, March 23, 2015 in Fort Myers, FL. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce L. (Adams) Bracken, his children Robin Putscher, Tammy Johnson, Edwin, Jr., Bryan and Lori Richardson, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and his sister Priscilla Coury. LTC Bracken was preceded in death by his parents, Twinam & Sylvia (Mardis) Bracken and 13 brothers and sisters. LTC Bracken graduated from Johnstown High School in 1955. He began serving with the National Guard in 1955 and began active duty with the US Army in 1966. He served two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. He was a long time resident of Coach Light Manor and a member of Parkway Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Treasurer. Friends received 6-8 pm Wednesday at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St, Armagh, where service will be held 11 am Thursday with Pastor Tom Phillips officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Armagh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Parkway Baptist Church 6211 Briarcliff Rd. Ft. Myers, FL 33912 in the name of LTC Edwin D. Bracken, Sr.
