Edna E. Barkley

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edna E. Barkley, of Ligonier, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on April 1, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on December 30, 1945, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of late Clyde and Nettie (Kuhns) Harbaugh. Also preceded in death by son James Barkley, one grandchild and several other family members.

Edna was a nurturing spirit who devoted her life to her family. Edna was a treasured matriarch, known for her warmth, kindness, and indomitable spirit. As a homemaker, she created a loving environment filled with comfort, laughter, and unconditional love. Her legacy will surely live on through her children: Earl Barkley and wife Rhonda, Latrobe; Lloyd Barkley and his fiancé Ashley Ribnicky, New Florence; Jesse Barkley and his wife Sue, Latrobe; Sharon McCurdy and her late boyfriend Barry Cobrando, Ligonier; Crystal McCurdy and her fiancé Mike Carlyn, and Charles McCurdy, Jr. and his fiancé Alisha Belice, Ligonier. She was also a proud grandmother to her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, including Tyler McCurdy and his daughter Ava McCurdy., Landon Barkley, and Lucas Barkley. She is also survived by several siblings, nieces, nephews and extended family members Each of them carries a piece of Edna's heart, reflecting her love and guidance in their lives.

Edna had many interests and hobbies including puzzle books, watching her daily Soap Operas, and Dateline crime shows. She loved seeing hummingbirds in her yard.

Throughout her life, Edna was a beacon of support and inspiration for her family and friends, imparting wisdom and happiness in every interaction. She will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered for her joyful spirit, her laughter that could light up a room, and her unwavering support for those she loved.


Edna E. Barkley will forever reside in the hearts of those who knew and loved her and will be deeply missed by her family and friends that were like family including Orbin Boring and Mary McIntired. Arrangements in care of Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral home, New Florence.
