**Obituary for Donald A. Parker, Phd**
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald A. Parker Phd, of Davidsville formerly of New Florence, a beloved father, grandfather, and esteemed professor. He was born on April 9, 1936, and left this world peacefully on January 7, 2026, at the age of 89.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents Charles Mitchell and Frances (MacPherson) Parker, wife Connie (Moran) Parker, and son Matthew Parker.
Donald was a pillar of strength and wisdom for his family, particularly for his daughter, Allison Parker, who cherished her father deeply, and her companion Edward Mulvey, of Johnston, RI; and grandson, Mark Parker, of New Florence. He took great joy in their accomplishments, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams and passions. His love and support will forever be a guiding light in their lives.
Donald lived a life marked by kindness, compassion, intellect, and a profound passion for education, which he shared with countless students during his distinguished career at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown as a professor of Civil Engineering. He received degrees from Harvard, Brown and the University of Connecticut. His legacy will endure in the lives he touched, fostering future generations to strive for excellence.
Donald had a passion for golf, a game he enjoyed immensely. He was an avid New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also enjoyed watching other sports on Television.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Donald A. Parker on Wednesday January 14, 2026, at 5:00 PM at the Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects starting at 4:00 PM until memorial at 5:00 PM. This will be an opportunity for those who knew Donald to gather, share memories, and celebrate the extraordinary life he led.
