David Otto “Dave” Rudnik, 62, of New Florence, passed away unexpectedly on June 23, 2026. Born on August 12, 1963, in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Otto A. Rudnik and Leopolda “Lee” (Blasic) Rudnik. In addition to his father, Dave was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Rudnik. Dave was a loving husband to his wife of 41 years, Joy (Ritenour) Rudnik; an adoring father to his daughter, Lacey, of Florida; and a proud "grandfather" to his furry grandson, Finnegan. He is also survived by his mother, his brothers, Doug Rudnik and wife, Colleen, of Cramer, and Daniel Otto “Uncle Boone” Rudnik of Sidman; his sister, Donna Fencik and husband, Tim, of Cranberry Township; his sisters-in-law, Karol (Bud Donahue) Gibbons, Bolivar, and Kim Wyman, New Castle; his nieces and nephews, Kendall (Brandon), Marlee (Russell), Jerremy, Tessa, Winn, Alex, Lauryn, Greg (Teresa), Tyler (Stephanie), Caitlin, and Kassidy; six great-nieces and great-nephews; his special Aunt Teala; along with several other aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and many friends. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, softball, cooking, fishing, playing poker, and spending time talking with his many friends. Even those he had just met were never strangers for long. Dave was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. He took pride in all of the hometown sports teams, routing for them win or lose. He was a member of the Bolivar American Legion and Holy Family Catholic Church in Seward. Dave will be remembered for his warm heart, outgoing personality, and the friendships he built wherever he went. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends received 2-5 PM Saturday and 6-9 PM Sunday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence. Mass of Christian Burial 2 PM Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 425 Bridge St., Seward. Rev. John Harrold officiating. Interment Armagh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital www.stjude.org online condolences may be made at www.thestuartfuneralhomes.com
