Daniel K. "Boone" Short, Jr., 68, Bolivar passed away at home on June 26, 2025.   Born June 6, 1957, in Johnstown, the son of the late Daniel K., Sr. and Patricia J. (Colbert) Short.

Survived by brothers Randy Short and wife Janie, Clyde; Jeff Short and wife Jennifer, Chesapeake, VA.  Sister Lisa Durler and husband David, New Florence.  These nieces and nephews who loved and adored him, Greg McCully and wife Lori, Garrett Short, Eden Short, Sydney Short, Brittany Burtnett and husband RJ, Tayler Flores and husband Tyler, and Hunter Durler and Morgan Penrose, and several great nieces and great nephews.

Boone was a life member of the Bolivar Volunteer Fire Co., a member of Bolivar Presbyterian Church where was an elder, Bolivar Borough Council, Bolivar American Legion and Sons of the American Legion, and Greensburg Masonic Lodge.  He enjoyed listening to Elvis and Beatles and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.  He will be missed by his family and numerous friends.

Friends received 2-6 pm Sunday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier Street, New Florence, where service will be held at 11 am Monday.  Pastor James Sunseri officiating. Interment Germany Lutheran Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Dan's name may be made to the Bolivar Volunteer Fire Co., PO Box 3, Bolivar, PA 15923
