Catherine Yaconi, 97, formerly of New Florence passed away March 7, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center. Born February 10, 1923 in New Florence the daughter of late daughter of the late Frank Pierce and Bertha Ada (Gable) Storey. Also preceded in death by husband Anthony Yaconi; Sisters Jean Ewt, Ruth Kaltenbaugh, Sarah Howard and Edna Rhoades. Survived by daughter Cathy Myers and husband John, Clermont, Fla; granddaughters Antionette Smith and husband Jason, St. Cloud, Fla, and Cheryl Schwegel and husband Ryan, Kalispell, Mont.; great-granddaughters Morgan, Isabella, Sophia and Sabrina. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Catherine was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she was active in many activities including women's group, and the Scalawags. She also was a volunteer helper for local Red Cross Blood Drives. Catherine enjoyed reading, sewing, cross stitch, crafts and gardening, especially her flowers. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence, where service will be held 11 am Thursday. Rev. Ruth Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box D, New Florence. Interment Fairfield Cemetery.
