Barbara E. Tinkey (Weyand), 90, of Benwood, WV, passed away on August 16, 2026, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling, WV. Born on September 19, 1935, in Kregar, PA, the daughter of the late Harvey Allen & Elizabeth Jane (Harbaugh) Shawley. Also preceded in death by husband William Tinkey, Sr. and Leland G. Weyand. Daughter-in-law Lyn Tinkey, infant grandson. Siblings William Shawley and wife Peggy; Margaret Tinkey and husband Ralph, Dollie Zufall.
Barbara was a dedicated seamstress, contributing her skills to the garment factory industry for many years. She was a loving mother to her five children, Sharon Robson (Ron), William Tinkey, Jr. (Kimberly), Timothy Tinkey (Vickie), Philip Tinkey, and Robin Weyand-James (Kevin).
Barbara's legacy is carried on by her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, shining the light of family love around her. Grandchildren Brain Robson (Cristi), Courtney Robson, Kaitlyn Robson (Nina Santiago), Dana Jones (Ben), Donna Luther (Mark), Jamie Walsh (John), Jack Fleming, Tanner Yuhase (Stacey), Shirelle Barnette (John), Tammy McQuillan (Matthew), Amanda Williams (Joshua), Matthew James (Noelle), Michelle Daniels, Dr. Timothy James (Lydia). Great-grandchildren Ella Robson; Paisley, Mercy, and Casper Miklo; McKenna and Emma Jones; Milo and Evelyn Luther; Cori and Caleb Walsh; Lily, Lilah, and Hunter Fleming; Evelyn and Claire Yuhase; Jack and Elias Barnett; Noah, Lukas, Alaina, and Joel McQuillan, Keaton Williams; Declan, Nolan, and Leo James; Tyler and Emma Bizub; Erling, Nora and Kennedy James. Brother Philip Shawley (Peggy) and brother-in-law Robert Zufall. Also, many nieces, nephews, and friends including special friend Donna Edge.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including crossword puzzles, playing solitaire, and reading romance novels. Barbara had a fondness for RFD TV and adored Pomeranian dogs. Her compassionate spirit was evident through her volunteer work at the United Food Pantry, where she dedicated many years to helping those in need. Barbara attended services of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she found community and connection.
Friends will be received 2-6 PM Friday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St., New Florence, where service will be held 11 AM Saturday. Interment Fairfield Cemetery.
Barbara will be deeply missed, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her
