West, Arthur E. "Screech", 83, New Florence died February 22, 2012 under Hospice Care at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 26, 1928 in Bolivar the son of the late Scott and Claire (Muir) West. Also preceded in death by brothers Sherwin, Robert and Earl West; sister-in-laws Jane and Sally West. Survived by wife of 57 years Ollie (Martin) West. Children Donna Bennett widow of Thomas; Diane Cramer widow of Stanley both of New Florence; Dean West and wife Lori (Domineck), Johnstown; grandchildren Jason, Craig and Megan Bennett; Lucas and Nicole Cramer; Morgan and Nathan West; step Grandchildren David Cramer and Tina Miller; sister Ornetta Bard and Sister-in-law Eleanor Lou West both of Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Served 2 years in the U.S. Navy. Formal employee of Lone Star Bus Lines, Keeler Trucking, Old Home Manor and Haws Refactories. Long time member of the New Florence Volunteer Fire Company. Former Westmoreland County Emergency Management Coordinator for New Florence Borough. Enjoyed spending time on the corner in New Florence, watching trains at JD Tower, visiting at Chuck's and K&M Auto, woodworking and especially teaching his grandson woodshop skills. Friends receive 1 till time of service 2 pm Saturday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, 139 Ligonier St, New Florence. Rev. Norman C. Kaufman. Interment Grandview Cemetery.
