Obituary of Mike Hirko

Hirko, Mike, 90, Cramer, passed way October 25, 2014 at Rebekah Manor. Born December 12, 1923 in Beaverdale the son of the late Andrew and Susan (Horochak) Hirko. Also preceded in death by son Jim Hirko, sisters Sue Bartko, Marge "Geita" Hirko, Marie Dost and Ann Cetner; brothers John, Eugene and Andy Hirko. Survived by wife Ella Mae (Stiles) Hirko; son David and wife Kim (Fochtman), Johnstown; daughter-in-law Dianne (Nause) Hirko, Venetia; grandchildren Matt and wife Erica Hirko; Rebecca Hirko; and Ryan Hirko, all of Johnstown; Bradley Hirko, Venetia; great-grandchildren Noah and Gabriel Hirko; sister Jean Mosher, Tampa, FL; brother Paul Hirko, Salix. A member of Oakland United Methodist Church, Mike was a friend to everyone he met, loved sports, roller skating, fishing, auctions, flea markets and was an avid bowler in many leagues. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, also was a retired agent from Allstate Insurance Company and manager with Acme Market. Friends received Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM at Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh, PA 15920 where service will be held Wednesday at 11AM. Pastor Randall Bain officiating. Internment Armagh Cemetery. Military rite by local veterans organization. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15963.
